More than 40 years ago the
Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles
started its long career as a venue
for showing comedies, dramas,
musicals, and revivals of the
classics. Its very first production
at its opening in 1967 was the
critically acclaimed “More Stately
Mansions” which had Ingrid Bergman,
Colleen Dewhurst, and Arthur Hill in
its rosterf of illustrious actors.
Since then, Ahmanson Los Angeles has
on its playbill such famous theatre
productions as “9 to 5: The
Musical”, “The Drowsy Chaperone”,
“Two Trains Running”, “Amadeus”,
“Swan Lake”, “The Piano Lessons”,
and many more. This theatre in Los
Angeles has won 50 Los Angeles Drama
Critics Circle Awards.
The West Coast’s largest theatrical

season in early autumn and lasts
until late summer. La Ahmanson
